Personal Development is an ongoing life challenge, according to Marie Stuart rsm, a psychotherapist and group facilitator. We have, she says, a desire to present our positive traits to the world while trying to deny or hide traits we perceive as negative. However this leaves us cut off from full selves. Here she talks with Miriam Gormally about how to be more insightful and accepting of ourselves and others; she even looks at how we can positively incorporate emotions such as jealousy into our lives.

As I listen to this interview, I find it a welcome reality check, normalising what I know to be negative about myself. Addressing the question of jealousy is a big issue and I congratulate Marie for shedding new light on it. Attention, attention, attention! there is indeed no light without darkness and I needed to hear that today. Thank you.
