The Village

20 years ago on September 16th, the United Nations signed an agreement to reduce the use of products that damage the ozone layer.  Since then, the depletion of the ozone layer has been slowing down.  This model of global cooperation was one that Al Gore referred to in his film, “An Inconvenient Truth.”  He pointed to it as the way to reduce the increase in Climate Change.  What’s needed is global cooperation and public enthusiasm.  Some people have already taken this step and are working to reduce their impact on the environment.   The EcoVillage project in Cloughjordan is a village that will be built to the most rigorous ecological standards.  Miriam Gormally met Seamus, Jenny and Oonagh Roantree from the village and asked them why they got involved in this project.  Oonagh began by explaining why she moved down from Dublin.
