Valery Larkin is on on a mission to make the world’s biggest blanket and set a new world record for the Guinness Book of Records. The finished blanket will go to help the Red Cross. Valery has been getting blankets from all over the world, from Japan to Wales – each blanket with its own story and individual contribution. She also went into Dóchas, the women’s prison in the Mountjoy campus, to get a group of knitters in there involved. Valery says the journey has been quite an adventure and is now about two thirds of the way through and hopeful that it will be finished by March. She talks with Miriam Gormally about what inspired her to take on such an enormous task.
