St Patrick’s Day is one that unites Irish and those interested in anything Irish. His life is surrounded by myths and legends and indeed former Archbishop of Armagh Alan Harper says it is astonishing that we have any information on him at all. Fortunately, thanks to mainly go St. Patrick’s own writings, it is possible to piece together information about the life of this remarkable man. In this interview with Peter Cheney, Alan discusses the life and times of St Patrick, including what we know from research into early manuscripts referring to him, as well as his relevance in today’s world.
