The government recently declared a climate emergency and the Green Party also had a massive bump in the elections. Eco Congregation is an environmental programme which seeks to find the link between the environment and faith and is open to all Christian denominations throughout Ireland and Britain.  It developed through a partnership between the Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI) and the environmental awareness charity “Going for Green” (now ENCAMS).  In this piece from 2009, we look at how they have been working at a grass roots level to get people to care more about the environment. Miriam Gormally met up with Fiona Murdoch who was the then Communications Officer for Eco Congregation Ireland. She began by explaining the group’s origins.
