Everyday in Ireland, huge amounts of food are wasted, by individuals, supermarkets and suppliers. In an attempt to reclaim some of the food and to increase our awareness of food wastage, Feed the Five Thousand plan to feed 5,000 people on Saturday, November 24th. Iseult Ward, who has been involved in the project from the start, explained more. Miriam Gormally began by asked her about the alarming and vast quantities of food that gets thrown out and how it could be reused.

This is a great initiative. Food poverty is new one.

It makes each of us responsible for those who are hungy each day and night.

I wish this project well and hopefully, it will make me consious at a personal level of any food waste in my own life.
