New Pope

The next Pope should appoint men and women from all over the world as cardinals – so says Fr. Gerry O’Hanlon. As the Vatican prepares for the next conclave, Pat Coyle talks with Fr. Gerry about what it will mean and the chances and opportunities that could arise from the election.

    Thanks for this interview with Gerry, Pat. It was a pleasant experience to do some right brain thinking and imagine or re-image a different collegial model of church embracing women and men from various cultural backgrounds.

    I have very positive feelings about this interview. Gerry’s almost stutter over the word man, shows a respect for the female gender that is unusual among the clergy. His open views are also very refreshing. Thank you.
