Saint Pio (Pius) of Pietrelcina, O.F.M. Cap. (May 25, 1887 – September 23, 1968) was a Capuchin Catholic priest from Italy who is venerated as a one of the greatest saints of our time in the Roman Catholic Church. He was born Francesco Forgione, and given the name Pius (Italian: Pio) when he joined the Capuchins, thus he became popularly known as Padre Pio. He became famous for bearing the stigmata, bi-locating and the gift of healing. On 16 June 2002, he was canonized by Pope John Paul II.
For many Catholics – St. Pio is among the greatest of saints who they feel is constantly interceding on their behalf. Conor Deane speaks with 2 women; Dr. Caoimhe Doyle about her devotion to St. Pio and it’s origin and to a mother of 3 children Yvonne Kelly about why she has suddenly turned to St. Pio.
In “I first heard of…”
Out “…thank you very much.”

Listening to Caoimhe and Yvonne and their desire to have a deeper sense of faith in Jesus through coming to know St.Pio certainly communicates great conviction on their part. Many thanks indeed for their personal testimonies
