Soul Sisters

Soul Sisters is the theme of Darren McCallig’s Sunday morning series running until December 9th in Trinity College Dublin. He invited distinguished and inspirational women to come and give talks about the women that inspired them. The guest speakers included Alice Leahy, Miriam O’Callaghan and Emily O’Reilly, who will be the final speaker. Miriam Gormally put it to him that the notion of Soul Sisters was ironic and timely given the Church of England’s latest ruling not to allow women bishops. But first she began by asking him about his inspiration for the idea.

Darren mentioned that there will be two episcopal elections in the Spring of 2013. We might look ahead to that and do profiles of some of the strong women clerics coming through the ranks of COI clergy? Paul Loughlin
